Morning Glory Homestead Farm is a working farm and outdoor learning space rooted in land stewardship, history, culture, and community education. For the safety and well-being of all who visit, we require completed waivers for participation in programs and activities on the farm.
Please review the information below and complete the appropriate form prior to your visit.
Who Needs to Complete a Waiver
All individuals who enter or participate in activities at Morning Glory Homestead Farm must have a waiver on file. This includes anyone present as a participant, student, visitor, volunteer, instructor, guest speaker, or presenter.
Waivers are required for:

Farm suppers and community gatherings

Educational programs and workshops
-
Classes and programs led by Morning Glory Homestead Farm

Programs led by visiting chefs, educators, guest speakers, and presenters

Visiting students participating in school, university, or organizational programs

Programs hosted by partner organizations using the farm

Volunteer activities and hands-on learning experiences
Available Waivers
1. Visitor Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver
For one-time visitors, students, speakers, and participants
This waiver applies to individuals attending a single program, class, visit, or presentation at the farm. This includes general visitors, visiting students, guest speakers, presenters, and attendees of farm-hosted or partner-led programs.
It covers participation in outdoor activities, cooking demonstrations, educational programs, presentations, and use of the property.

1. Acknowledgment of Nature of the Property and Activities
I understand and acknowledge that Morning Glory Homestead Farm is a working farm and natural outdoor environment. Activities on the property may include, but are not limited to:

Walking on uneven terrain, fields, woods, and farm paths

Exposure to insects, wildlife, plants, tools, equipment, and weather conditions

Campfires, open flames, cooking demonstrations, and food preparation

Farm tasks, gardening, harvesting, and handling natural materials

Educational programs, farm suppers, workshops, and classes
I understand that these activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, falls, cuts, burns, allergic reactions, illness, or other injuries.
2. Assumption of Risk
I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, whether known or unknown, associated with being on the property of Morning Glory Homestead Farm and participating in any activity, program, class, or event, including those conducted by:

Morning Glory Homestead Farm and its owners, staff, or volunteers

Visiting chefs, instructors, educators, artists, organizations, or collaborators

Third-party program leaders offering classes or experiences on the farm
3. Release and Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by South Carolina law, I hereby release, waive, and discharge Morning Glory Homestead Farm, its owners, family members, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to:

Personal injury, illness, or death

Property damage or loss

Participation in any farm activity, program, or event

Use of farm facilities, equipment, kitchens, outdoor cooking areas, or natural spaces
This release applies whether the activity is hosted by the farm or led by visiting chefs, educators, or organizations using the property with permission.
4. Visiting Chefs, Educators, and Program Leaders
I understand that some programs may be led by visiting chefs, instructors, or organizations who are not employees of Morning Glory Homestead Farm.
I agree that:

These individuals are independent program leaders, not agents or employees of the farm

Morning Glory Homestead Farm is not responsible for the actions, instruction, or materials provided by visiting leaders

Participation in these programs is voluntary and at my own risk
5. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Morning Glory Homestead Farm from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising from:

My participation in activities on the farm

My actions or negligence while on the property

Any damage I cause to farm property, facilities, or equipment
6. Health, Food, and Allergies
I acknowledge that:

Farm meals and food demonstrations may include common allergens

Food may be prepared outdoors or in shared spaces
-
I am responsible for informing program leaders of any allergies or medical conditions
I accept full responsibility for my health and dietary needs while participating.
7. Photography and Media Release (Optional but Recommended)
I grant permission to Morning Glory Homestead Farm to use photographs, video, or audio recordings of me taken during programs or events for educational, promotional, or archival purposes, without compensation.

8. Minors
If I am signing on behalf of a minor, I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian and consent to the minor’s participation under all terms of this agreement. I accept responsibility for supervising the minor while on the property.
9. Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of South Carolina.
10. Acknowledgment and Signature
I have read this agreement carefully, understand its contents, and sign it voluntarily. I understand that by signing this document, I am giving up certain legal rights.
