We conduct a tour that begins on our farm followed by stops at historic places on St. Helena Island. Thelocations include a local praise house, the Reconstruction Era Monument locations in St. Helena (Brick Baptist Church and Darrah Hall), Penn Center formerly the Penn School with descriptions of the buildings, including the cottage Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stayed in during his planning conferences with the SCLC. We continue with stops at The Chapel of Ease and the Coffin Point Plantation and Gullah cemetery. The tour will be enhanced by the Gullah stories told and songs sung along the way! Following the tour, return to the farm with us where we will site outside around a fire for a simple meal that is a local favorite of fresh fish or shrimp and grits with eggs collected from our chickens and cooked how you like them. Other choices are available upon request. The price includes a 3% transaction fee for online payments. Keeping the Covid-19 safety recommendations in mind, and limited spacing and distancing in vehicles, we ask the participants to follow us from point to point in their own vehicle and we keep the 6 feet distance and wear masks when we get out at the stops.
