About the event
We’ve made a few modifications to our camping event in November.
The Camping Event for Women will be in November for the Veterans Day weekend. This will be a blast of fun continuing what began in June with the first Women’s CampingWeekend.
Camping spaces will be through Hipcamp.
Kisha Kinard will return to teach about sweet grass baskets. This time she will instruct participants how to make their own small basket. $45
Tony and Belinda will lead a fishing outing at Hunting Island State Park. Included will be bait, casting nets, crab pots and a few extra rods with reels. Participants need to purchase a temporary saltwater fishing license. Keep what you catch if it’s within limits. $45
Farm tour is included in the event fee. See our animals, receive and taste samples of our available produce.
Foraging and local teas
Make tea from local yaupon tea leaves. “Yaupon is—fun fact—the only known caffeinated plant native to the U.S. (It's a tree, and the tea is made from the holly-like leaves.) It's packed with antioxidants and roughly the same amount of caffeine as yerba mate.” $25
Thursday evening hear stories around the campfire of women Veterans in honor of Veterans Day. Friday hear from SC farmer, author and historian Dori Sanders.
Lowcountry meals will be prepared on site for the campfire suppers.
Thursday -Fish Fry with red rice, hush puppies, slaw. $30
Friday -Lowcountry Boil with crab. $35
