About the event
Join us for a relaxing spring evening at Morning Glory Homestead Farm as we celebrate nature, birds, and the simple joy of being outdoors.
Our gathering will begin with a peaceful walk around the farm, where guests will have the opportunity to try a beginner-friendly birdwatching activity and learn how to use popular birding and naturalist apps to identify the birds and wildlife around us.

After our time exploring the landscape, we will come together for a short program about J. Drew Lanham and his inspiring book The Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man’s Love Affair with Nature, reflecting on his journey as a birder, naturalist, and storyteller of the land.
The evening will conclude with a Gullah Geechee–inspired meal enjoyed around glowing campfires beneath moss-draped oak trees—an opportunity to share conversation, slow down, and savor the beauty of spring on the farm.
Come celebrate the pleasures of outdoor recreation,…
