Lowcountry Nature Hike
- 2 hr2 hours

- St. Helena Island, SC
Come to the farm for a quick Meet and Greet before we head off to beautiful Hunting Island State Park. At the Nature Center you can see live examples of some of the animals that live in the vicinity from birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians and crustaceans followed by a walk out on the newly reopened fishing pier. From the pier we will hit the Nature Center Trail which leads straight into the woods and has a number of different trails to veer off into other areas of the park. Stay in the NCT and end up at Little Hunting Island. Along the way you'll see the flora and fauna and some fungi that are at home in the Lowcountry. Once we return to the nature center we'll drive up to the main park entrance for a visit to the park office and visitor center where you will likely see the alligator that lives near the pond. Inside there are displays that include the history of the park and a virtual lighthouse tour. The next stop will be the main beach area, near the lighthouse, park store/souvenir shop and picnic areas where we'll serve lunch. Throughout the tour we will share information about the area, and point out useful plants.
